The New Black Panthers Place $10,000 Bounty On George Zimmerman
Saturday, March 24 and the situation in Florida surrounding the killing of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman as The New Black Panthers publicly offer up at $10,000 bounty on the head of George Zimmerman.
As we all know, George Zimmerman was the captain of a local Florida neighborhood watch, he notices 17 year old Trayvon Martin returning home from the store, where he bought Skittles.
Zimmerman observed Trayvon Martin wearing a hoodie sweatshirt/jacket which Zimmerman decided was “suspicious behavior” and he called the Police. The Police instructed George Zimmerman that he should absolutely not follow Trayvon Martin and that Police units were on the way.
George Zimmerman followed Trayvon Martin anyway and in the end Zimmerman ended up shooting Martin and then claimed “self defense” under the “Stand Your Ground” law.
The situation would have been different had Trayvon Martin been up to no good but Trayvon had a bag of candy and was returning home. Trayvon Martin didn’t have any type of weapon and was even heard screaming for help as George Zimmerman followed him and eventually pulled out his gun and aimed it at Trayvon Martin with the conclusion being the shooting and killing of Travon Martin.
Present Day Bounty
CoffeeCupDemocrat.com does not in any way support or condone vigilantism or the placing of any kind of bounty on any person, no matter how well intentioned or evil that person may be. The New Black Panthers do not share this opinion with CoffeeCupDemocrat.com and thus have placed a bounty of $10k on the head of George Zimmerman who is currently in hiding.
Bounty or Not, Zimmerman Voicemail On Neighbors Voice Mail
Dateline NBC is now reporting that George Zimmerman left a voice mail on neighbor Frank Taaffe’s phone. In the message, George Zimmerman thanked Taffe for speaking out on Zimmerman’s behalf:
“I know you don’t have to, and I appreciate it, and you’re truly setting an example for me for the future of doing the right thing even when it’s tough, and I appreciate it.”
Taffe is one of the few people who were willingly speaking out on behalf of George Zimmerman. Taffe told reporters:
George Zimmerman is “overzealous, maybe,” but “his main concern is the safety and welfare of the community.”
Should A Bounty Be Placed On George Zimmerman?
Yes, The New Black Panthers have placed a bounty of $10,000 on George Zimmerman but this only serves to be a distraction from solving the problem at hand and figuring out George Zimmerman’s culpability in a possible murder in the event that the “Stand Your Ground” law does not apply to this situation. Diverting police and investigators recources to trying to stop vigilantes from capturing or killing George Zimmerman.
The fact is that this bounty is a hindrance to all the parties concerned with this case. Thanks to the public outcry via protests and social media the investigation of this case is very intense and is being investigated by several Federal and local law enforcement professionals. In closing, this bounty on George Zimmerman illustrates the frustration of the community and the country but it doesn’t help in the least.

This was a very good article! I do agree with you that any type of action that can be looked at as vigilante justice only makes this bad situation a worse one. The pressure that has been applied by the public should be enough to bring justice and hopefully overturn the “Stand You Ground Law” and others like it in other states!
I published your comments on the Zimmerman shooting. I also put in a reply, I thought I would share it back to you as you were nice enough to take the time to comment. There are more posts coming on this as the facts are now being allowed to filter out past the politically correct MSM and their cookie cutter mindset.
Here is your comment:
Mr. Zimmerman’s lawyer will defend his client under the protection of self defense, presumably using the cut on his nose as evidence of an attack. The problem with self defense in this case is that he pursued the victim at length. He was fully aware that he did not have any authority to do that. I am unaware of any statute that allows you to claim self defense for the use of deadly force to defend yourself against an unarmed person who hit you with his hand (the only weapon he had) because you stalked and harrassed him. This need not be linked in any way to “stand your ground” or other concealed carry laws or neighborhood watch programs in general. If you are not law enforcement, you have no authority to stalk or chase anyone headed away from you because you are suspicious of their motives. When the “bad guy” leaves, the threat to your person leaves with them. Had he not killed this young man, Zimmerman might still be facing charges for stalking or harrassment.
My response:
First, your statement about the “authority” issue is way off base. A citizen can, and is often asked to, actively engage with people and environments as he wishes. There is no extra rights here. Too much has been given to the fact Martin wasn’t doing anything so it gets him a pass or a bubble of protection. That isn’t true. If you see a suspicious person doing something you can inquiry. You can follow. It’s done all the time by citizens. (Spend some time in police work and you’ll know) Criminals would be getting away with far more if we were left with only the police to hold the line against their activities. That is why the neighborhood watch was started!
On the comment about stalking and self defense: First- there is no stalking statute that fits a citizen following another because of perceived suspicious activity. I am GLAD people do that because criminals are made nervous and a million times in a year are run off before they can commit crime.
Second on the issue of self defense:
Yikes!
You need to catch up on your legal readings. There are self defense statutes in every state of the union and federal that allow for self defense! The weapons are not important, the threat of harm is. For example, if you are a woman and being strangled by a man, even a smaller man, using only his hands, can you kill him? The answer is absolutely yes and I would be disappointed if you didn’t. If you are elderly and a young smaller man attacks you, can you defend yourself? Yes. Again based on the threat of harm.
As the facts have come out we’ve learned the following; (and more will come from another post soon) 1. That Zimmerman did apparently disengage and walk back to his car. 2. HE was then FOLLOWED by Martin, who confronted him and jumped him. (I’ve seen this a thousand times in my police career.) 3. Once Zimmerman was on the ground, head being beaten against the sidewalk, screaming for help, Martin on top of him, the situation changed from the poor black profiled kid to an young man beating another man, for what again? Being possibly politically incorrect? Zimmerman suffered a broken nose, which by the way unless you’ve been hit in the nose you have no idea how disorientating it is, and contusions to the back of his head where Martin beat it against the concrete.
In any state, ANY state, that situation, no matter how you got into it, is a deadly one and you are very much in your right to defend yourself
At what point do the roles of stalker/attacker switch? Or do you believe that being black gives someone the extra credit to do things like beat a man for a perceived slight? I’ve seen maiming, crippling, mentally devastating attacks and even death perpetrated by “angry young black men” full of rage, violence and very little social restraint. It just is what it is. I knew something like this was going to be the truth when the facts came out. The PD would have arrested and the SAO would have charged him if there was any doubt what happened.
Martin killed himself by being aggressive, not talking, not thinking and wanting to harm another for a slight- which is what this may have been. Ask yourself, is that somebody you want to make a hero or be like your son?
Hardly.
Hello Archer, thank you for the comment as it is really interesting to read dissenting opinions.
The facts will, hopefully, speak for themselves and there won’t be any room for disagreement about the facts beyond reasonable doubt.
My only question to you is why would Martin single out George Zimmerman for an attack and yet he didn’t attack anyone else he may have passed, or seen, on the street he was walking down? If the facts of the case are the way you claim than Zimmerman must have done something to differentiate himself from every other citizen on that street that day. If Martin did jump on Zimmerman, as you claim, then we have to ask the most logical question; did George Zimmerman provoke a “fight or flight” instinct within Martin?
If the answer to that question is yes, which it well may be, then we have to start to question if Martin was in fear for his life and was himself exercising the “Florida Stand Your Ground” law.
We can naturally go back and forth for days on end regarding this case and still not get anywhere, there simply aren’t enough facts available to us yet.
One thing we can both agree on is that it is never acceptable for anyone to put a “Price” on any person’s head.
